Family's the Best!

We had such a fun time taking family pictures at Woodward Park

12 days later!

It has already been almost 2 weeks since Logan, I mean Elder Rahn, entered the MTC. (Missionary Training Center.) We received our first letter and fist email on Tuesday of last week, because we were on our yearly Key West trip and our friend had to red us his letter and about 20 minutes later his email arrived. What a treat to hear his enthusiasm and experiences. That was a long 6 days!
He says that his first companion is Elder Sjavick from Washington. He has 10 missionaries in his branch; 8 going to Kobe and 2 to Sendai. They are learning Japanese 8 hours a day and he says it is crazy how they do it, but it works! Language by immersion!
Eldeer Rahn said that during his PE time he is running and playing baseball! He used to love baseball but gave it up completely a few years ago and he says that he still has his "awesome" skills! :)
Tomorrow we should hear from him on his laundry time. He gets exactly 30 minutes to email. If he doesn't send it in time, the whole thing is lost because it automatically shuts off.
His friend Preston, I mean Elder Trebas, left the MTC today for the Phillippines San Pablo mission. That is exciting!
His other friend, Andrew, I mean Elder Sorensen, has been in Georgia for about 3 weeks and is having great success there. Really great to hear!
We miss Logan, but we are loving our Elder Rahn immensely! Pictures soon!

This is Elder Rahn's Mom.
I am just going to quickly update his blog for him.
He entered the MTC today and it was a great experience. He was really excited after we took a quick look at the MTC the night before. Then when we got there, he was even more excited that it was finally here and the wait was over. We even saw Elder Dubin from our old Moorpark ward as he passed by us.
It definitely was tough saying the last goodbye and getting one last hug, but it was also very good and such a sweet feeling of peace knowing that he is doing what he wants to do and has covenanted with the Lord to do.
For all of you that told him that I would be the worst one with my crying there, you were wrong! I did my usual. There were tears flowing but no blubbering or anything! Yeah!
We all miss him already, but this is what we have hoped for all of his life. That he would be willing and worthy and have a strong testimony of the gospel and want to share it with others. He has worked hard and made the good choices that he has needed to so that this day would come! He hopes that you will all write to him. His address is:
Elder Logan Rahn
MTC Mailbox # 183
JPN_KOB 0720
2005 N 900 E.
Provo,Utah 84604-1793
You can write to him in the MTC until he leaves there on July 20th. If you use DearElder.com it will usually get there that day or the next and it is free in the MTC.

Goodbye

Well it wasn't easy but I have said most all of my goodbyes. Today I am being set apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'll be in the MTC ( Missionary Training Center ) for 2 and a half months. During that time i will be learning japanese pretty much 24/7 so hopefully by the end of my training I'll have a good understanding of the language.

I wish you all good luck on the 2 years I am away and hope that you continue to follow my blog as I serve and my mom updates it. Good-bye! I'll miss all of you! Don't be afraid to write! I want any letter I can get I'll always answer!
